Why I’m Running Strength Workshops - And Why They Matter for Everyday Life & Running
Its Reshape trainer Perry here.
As a Reshape trainer at 1Rebel, I spend a lot of time watching how people move not just during sessions, but how they carry themselves, how they run, and how they feel in their bodies over time.
And one thing I keep coming back to: strength changes everything.
That’s exactly why I’m holding these workshops, to create a space where we can slow things down a little, understand our lifts better, and build strength in a way that actually supports everyday life and running on that infamous treadmill.
Strength Isn’t Just About The Gym
For me, strength has never been about chasing numbers or lifting the heaviest weight in the room. It’s about feeling capable. Whether that’s carrying bags without thinking about it, moving pain-free, or simply feeling more confident in your own body and in the reshape room.
In class, I often see people surprised by how much stronger they become when they focus on the basics consistently. And the biggest wins don’t always happen in the studio, they happen outside of it, when everyday tasks feel easier and movement feels more natural.
That’s the kind of strength I want these workshops to focus on.
Why Strength Matters So Much for Runners
Running is incredible, not just for its physical attributes but also its positivity on our mental health. But its very physical on the body, step after step, the same muscles and joints absorb load over and over again. Without strength underneath it, running can start to feel harder than it should or lead to those injuries that keep creeping in and keep us sidelined.
When runners build strength, I see real changes:
better posture when fatigue kicks in
more power and control in each stride
fewer aches and overuse injuries
improved efficiency so running actually feels easier
Strength training isn’t there to compete with running. It supports it.
Why These Workshops Are Different
In a normal class, things move fast, energy is high, transitions are quick, and there’s only so much time to break down technique. These workshops are a chance to step back and really focus.
We’ll spend time going through key lifts, understanding what they’re doing for your body, and building confidence with movement patterns that show up both in everyday life and when you run.
There’s space to ask questions, refine form, and actually feel what good lifting should feel like.
Building Strength Takes Time and That’s the Point
One of the biggest things I want people to take away is that strength isn’t something you rush. It’s built through consistency, patience, and good foundations.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is slow down, focus on quality reps, and give ourselves time to adapt. When we do that, progress comes not just in the weights we lift, but in how we move overall.
Come Train With Me
These workshops are for anyone who wants to feel stronger whether you’re a regular runner, new to lifting, or someone who just wants to move better in everyday life.
My goal is simple: help you understand your body, feel more confident with strength training, and walk away with tools that make both running and daily movement easier.
Because strength isn’t just something we train it’s something we carry with us everywhere.
