Ride vs MetricS Ride

Ride vs Metrics Ride, so what’s the actual difference? Well, here’s the tea, both sessions are formatted in exactly the same way. Meaning the journey of the class, or how our trainers curate their playlists are the same from studio to studio. So essentially the workout you’ll be getting will be very similar from class to class. Obviously taking into consideration each trainer will have a different style of music they gravitate to, so make sure you check out our trainer profiles via our website if you’re wanting to find out a little more about our Rebels and what tracks they play in class.

Both classes are programmed to the beat of the music, so expect to ridethrough a variety of sprints, endurance pushes, and fun choreography all to your favourite tracks. Our OG Ride features a weights track (something you won’t get in Metrics Ride) targeted to hit that upper body with a bit more spice. So, expect to pick up the weights and feel the burn towards the middle of your Ride session.

One of the main differences you’ll notice when walking into a Metrics Rideclass are the bikes. These bikes feature a Metrics screen which shows your speed (RPM), resistance (0-100), distance, wattage and calories. So, if you’re looking to track your progress from class to class, these sessions are for you. But don’t worry if you don’t want to use the screen, these can be easily covered up with your sweat towel. Your screen is completely personal, no one can see it but you.

So how do I know what resistance to choose in Ride if I don’t have a screen? Your instructor will coach you through feeling and via the number of turns on your dial. These bikes are a little less sensitive when it comes to resistance, so don’t be afraid to reach down and give it a good spin. For example, your instructor might be coaching you through a heavy climb and ask for a sticky sensation under the peddles. Alternatively, you’ll be jumping into a quick double time beat which requires much less resistance, only a few turns max.

All in all, our Ride sessions are the ultimate party on the bike, guaranteed to bring all the nightclub vibes.. but without the hangover. Expect the best sound systems and lights to fully immerse yourself into the wonderful world of Ride at 1Rebel.
